« More News Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics Announce Agreement With Ministry Health Care09/03/08 The Board of Directors of Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics has announced an agreement with Ministry Health Care effective September 1, 2008 that will result in the two organizations working together to solidify the continued provision of health care services to the Adams County community.
Moundview has enjoyed an affiliation with UW Health in Madison for the past three years and has had a good working relationship with that organization. But over the past several months the Board has recognized a need for a more extensive partnership. “The relationship with UW Heath has been a positive one,” stated Board President Joe Parlante D.D.S. “But it is time for us to enter a new chapter in our history with a new relationship that can help position our organization for the future. We feel the agreement with Ministry is a very constructive step for us and the community.”
The agreement with Ministry Health Care will provide several key things including CEO/senior leadership support, strategic assessment and long term planning, assistance with physician support and strategy development, customer service initiatives, and electronic health record assistance. All of these efforts are designed to insure the long term viability of health care services in the Adams County region.
Ministry Health Care has extensive experience providing rural health care services, successfully operating small rural hospitals in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Cynthia Eichman, President of Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley, Wisconsin will be on site at Moundview Memorial Hospital in the role of CEO to work with Jeremy Normington, Vice President of Patient Care Services as part of the agreement. She will begin her duties at the hospital effective on September 1st.
Moundview and Ministry have built a relationship over the past year according to John Ceelen, Senior Director of Special Projects for Ministry Health Care. “We have a good understanding of the needs at Moundview Memorial Hospital and of their desire to continue to meet community health care needs. We look forward to working with the hospital staff, physicians, Association members, Partners of Moundview Memorial Hospital, Memorial Healthcare Foundation, and the Board of Directors to build confidence by working together to insure the viability of health care services in the community.”
Moundview Memorial Hospital and Clinics has been meeting the healthcare needs of Adams County and the surrounding area since 1959. They offer a variety of services including: 24-hour emergency care, clinic, inpatient care, outpatient services, diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, home health care, and senior services. Their goal is to provide accessible, affordable, high quality health care.
Ministry Health Care is a values-driven health care delivery network of aligned hospitals, clinics and other providers, based in Wisconsin and Minnesota. With over 12,000 employees including physicians and health professionals, Ministry also offers home health, hospice, long-term care facilities, dialysis services, a health plan and many other services.
The Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother, who have sponsored health care in the region for nearly 120 years, founded Ministry Health Care in 1984. Ministry’s mission as a Catholic health care system is to further the healing ministry of Jesus by continually improving the health and well-being of all people, especially the poor, in the communities we serve.
