New CEO at Moundview

06/30/09

Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics’ Board of Directors announces the promotion of Jeremy Normington-Slay to the role of Chief Executive Officer effective July 1, 2009. Normington has been serving as V.P. of Patient Care Services at Moundview since January of 2008.

Prior to Normington, the role of CEO has been filled on a part-time basis by Cynthia Eichman since last September as part of Moundview’s management agreement with Ministry Health Care. Eichman will continue to assist Moundview in a consulting role on behalf of Ministry, working with the hospital’s leadership team.

“I have worked closely with Jeremy over the past ten months while completing groundwork to ensure the continued success of the hospital,” said Eichman. “Establishing full-time, qualified, local executive leadership was the next step in Ministry’s management plan for Moundview,” said Eichman. “I am confident in Jeremy’s abilities to lead the organization. I look forward to working closely with him in my new role as an executive coach and Ministry Health Care resource liaison along with Ministry’s Senior Executive Director, John Ceelen,” said Eichman.

Normington has experience in leadership positions at two other healthcare organizations including St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee and Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa. His education includes Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees in healthcare related fields and he has successfully completed the Executive Program offered by the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“I have worked closely with Ministry these past ten months, overseeing much of the daily operations and liaison responsibilities,” said Jeremy. “My family and I are committed to the community and to the long term success of the hospital. We have made Adams County our home and have developed good relationships here. I feel blessed to be afforded this position and know that recent improvements at the hospital are a result of a lot of hard work from the managers and their staff. I am accepting this position thankfully, knowing I have the full support of the Board of Directors, the leaders and staff at Moundview, and the ongoing resource assistance from a system like Ministry Health Care.”

Dr. Parlante, Hospital Board Chairman said “representatives from Ministry Health Care have had the opportunity to work closely with Jeremy Normington. They believe he has the training, skills and commitment needed to ensure the long term success of the organization and we support that recommendation. We are pleased he is willing to accept this promotion.”

Normington will continue as an employee of Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics and report directly to the Board of Directors. The one year management agreement with Ministry will conclude as of August 30, 2009, however an extension of this agreement is in discussion.
