Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics The hospital has volunteer opportunities available for greeters/escorts. Volunteers must 18 years or older, be able to work independently, possess good interpersonal and communication skills, adhere to confidentiality policies, and be in good physical, emotional and mental health. State and federal laws require background and reference checks to be completed before volunteering at the hospital.
Greeters/Escorts Volunteers greet persons in the hospital lobby and provide them with information including directions on how to find hospital services, patients or staff. They also offer wheelchairs to patients and escort them, as needed, to their vehicle, room or hospital department. Other duties include providing coffee or tea in the lobby and checking on the status of appointments for patients. If interested in volunteering, please contact Lizz Flory, Dietary Director, at (608) 339-8325 or lizzg@moundview.org
Partners of MMH&C By becoming a member of the Partners of MMH&C, your volunteer efforts benefit others in your community. Donations Made Over the years, Partners has contributed thousands of dollars to Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics. One of their most recent accomplishments was planning and contributing money towards the new meditation room at the hospital. Other contributions have included: purchasing new defibrillators, bedside tables, wheelchairs, floor buffer, hospital beds, hospital conference room, vital signs monitor, convection oven, mammography room, renovations to the lobby and extended care residents' rooms, scholarships to high school students, and much more.
History of the Organization In 1958, a group of women canvassed area organizations to get volunteer workers for the new Adams County Memorial Hospital that was under construction (now Moundview Memorial Hospital & Clinics). This was the start of the ACMH Auxiliary. To prepare the new hospital for its opening in July 1959, the Auxiliary held work bees to clean the floors, paint, wash windows and sew special linens and drapes. Their first fundraisers included smorgasbords and Friday night ice cream socials. In 1998-1999 the organization changed its name to Partners to more accurately reflect today's organization and its members (both men and women).
Membership Partners of MMH&C membership is open to men and women over the age of 18. Dues are only $5. Meetings are held the second Friday of every month (except August and January). Meetings are held at 1:30 p.m. in the Moundview Memorial Hospital Oak Room with the exception of special luncheon meetings which require an RSVP and are held in July and December.
New members are always welcome. You may print out a membership form by clicking on the pdf below. For more information, attend a Partners meeting or call the hospital gift shop at (608) 339-3331, extension 301.
